Wide Band Stop Butterworth Filter

A wide band stop filter is derived by having a low pass filter
in parallel with a high pass filter and summing the results. The low pass
filter must have a lower 3dB frequency than the high pass filter.
In the above applet, the magnitude response is shown in red
and pink. The phase delay is in green and the group delay in cyan.
