The Fourier Series of a triangular wave is given by:-
The effect of passing a triangular wave through an RC circuit is illustrated in the applet below.
For small RC time constants eg parameters (5, 0.04, 1.0) the output is similar in shape to the input but delayed by the RC time constant. When the time constant is large eg parameters (3, 1.0, 6.0) the output becomes a quadratic function of t. For large n the Fourier series of the output converges as 1/(n**3) and the spectrum of the output is dominated by 1 line.
