2D Fourier Transform of a "Box"

The 2D function in the x-y plane above has a 2D Fourier Transform
in the u-v plane shown below.
This 2D transform in the u-v plane is illustrated in the applet below.
When th = 0, the view is along the u axis. Both u and v axes go from -4 to +4.
This pattern is identical to the interference+diffraction pattern of
a double slit.
